This guide will help you get started to host your first virtual challenge on sodisp.

Step 1: Create your event

The first step is to open the Event Manager section from the Profile dropdown menu:

Please note that you need to be logged in before you can continue. After this click on Create Event to start the event creation wizard.

In the first step you will be asked for the name of your event. Please note that we will base the url based on the name you enter so make sure you enter the correct name without typos.

Once you confirm the name of the event you get to the screen where you can configure the most important details of the event. Only few fields are required so you can quickly enter those and hit Save and always go back to fine-tune the configuration at a later moment in time.

Step 2: Add one or more challenges

Once you have created your event, you can add one or more Races to it. A race is either an in-person race or a challenge. You can choose from various challenge types such as Best Result or Total Distance.

For your first event our advice is to start with either Best Result or Total Distance. Once you've done such a challenge you can explore the more advanced challenge types. Each challenge type has specific configuration options available to further customize them.

Step 3: Add your first badge

A key component to creating successful and engaging virtual challenges is to include badges in your challenges. This will ensure participants keep motivated during the challenge to reach their end-goal.

Each badge can trigger a customizable email which will be delivered once the badge is achieved. This email is a great way to drive engagement and allow participants to share their results with friends and family.
