When creating or managing your event, you can enable the 'Require verification to join' option. Once this option is enabled new participants can only join your event when they enter a valid verification code. By default every verification code can be entered only once. After that the code is marked as used and cannot be used anymore.

Connect with registration data

We advise to upload the registration data from your registration system. From your registration platform you can download a .csv or Excel export file which can be imported into sodisp. This ensures only registered users can join your event and also loads all other information from this file such as name, gender and race.

The following columns are supported in the csv file:

FieldColumn name(s) (in csv)Description
CodeVerification Code, Code, IdUnique verification code for a participant. Must be unique and never change for a participant. Required.
Group/TeamGroup, Team name, TeamThe name of the group/team. Used to group participant in a group or team. Required for team races.
NameName, Full NameFull participant name
Given NameGiven Name, First Name
Family NameFamily Name, Last Name
EmailEmailEmail address (only used for sending event related communications such as badge and challenge completion emails)
GenderGender, SexEither 'M' or 'F' are allowed. When this is provided gender based leaderboards will be enabled. Separate gender positions will be calculated automatically.
RaceRace, Sub-eventThe (import) id of the race to which this participant is registered.
Alternatively, you can comma (or semi-column) separate multiple races to have one entry  join more than one race at a time.
CategoryCategory, Age GradeAllows you to upload any category/age grade grouping. When data is imported with this field a category filter is displayed on the race page. Separate category positions will be calculated automatically.
BibBib, Bib no, Bib nr, Bib NumberThe bib number of the participant, which can be displayed on the leaderboards.
Team CaptainTeamCaptain, IsTeamCaptainFlag to mark relay team captains. Either 'Y' or 'N' or 'True' or 'False'.
CityCity, TownCity name of the participant, which can be displayed on the leaderboards.
StateStateState name of the participant, which can be displayed on the leaderboards.
CountryCountry, Country CodeCountry name or code of the participant, which can be displayed on the leaderboards.

Note: when multiple column names are provided any of them works. Column names are not case sensitive.

You can configure the value for each race to match with the value in your import file and you can optionally also define custom fields names for the verification code and race column so they match the exported file.

Mapping to Races

On the Edit Race screen there is an Import ID field which you can use to enter the value of the Race name as you use it in the registration file.

Optionally, you can enter multiple comma separated values when you want multiple race names from the import file end up in the same race in your challenge. E.g. "5k (UK), 5k (international)" will map participants with any of those values to the same race.

Always Import Full File

Please make sure to always import the full registration list. Do not try to upload only new entries. When you accidentally would do so, the system will detect and warn for this to prevent you accidentally importing wrong registration data.

Import Registration Data

You can upload registration data from the Registrations option from the Manage Event screen. This screen also allows you to view the previously uploaded registration data so you can verify the data has been processed correctly.

Inviting participants to join

You can automatically send email invitations to new registration entries. See this article to invite participants to your challenge.
