Team results can either be based on the sum of the results of the members, or based on the average of the results of the members.

Optionally, you can configure a maximum team size on the Edit Event screen.

Fixed team size

When you create a (corporate) team leaderboard you can optionally define this option.

Use this option to enforce all teams to have the same number of team members. Effectively this means that any team with less than the defined number of members may not qualify for a result!

This is an advanced option and most events should not use it unless it meets the requirements defined here.

An example: when your team race works with fixed teams of 4 you can enter '4' in this field.

  • Any team with less than 4 members will not show a result on the leaderboard until (at least) 4 members have a qualified result
  • For any team with more than 4 members the system will use the best 4 results. Other team members will show in the team details popup but will not contribute to the team result.

Depending on the scoring method a different calculation method is used:

  • For incremental results (such as distance challenges) the results of the best X team members are combined into a team result
  • For best-result leaderboards (such as a 10K race) the average of the best X team members is used as team result.
